Recently, the No Money Mama was at a local yard sale and I was lucky enough to stumble upon a
FREE piano! It looked nice and it worked. I did a little cleaning, listed it on Craigslist ( my first time ever ) and 30 minutes later it was sold for $200! One man's trash is the No Money Mama's treasure. Now if I could only do this a few times a week, every week I could be the Some Money Mama.

Wow, a free piano, that's great! It looks like it's in awesome shape as well, is the tune good?

Lauri, all the keys worked but it probably need a good tuning. The new owners did not seem to mind.
We currently have a piano that does nothing but sit in the basement. I've seen so many beautiful painted pianos that i want to try it, but I don't think my mom would be interested in that idea. If I came across a free piano that's what I'd do with it!
Do you ever read the blog My Dear Trash? Well, the lady who writes it scours Goodwill weekly on their dollar days and then sells the clothes back on EBAY. She just recently challenged herself to earn $4,000 to pay for a family vacation. I think she earned it in about 12 weeks doing this. It's a terrific resource for using craigslist and ebay for resale.
Jane, I love MY Dear Trash!

Smart Lady..Ilike the way you think;wish more of these options had been around when my kids were growing up
Super cool! I've got an old piano to sell. I'll put it on craigslist and see what happens! You're blog is great. I hope you'll follow me www.thestorymama.blogspot.com. I sell Barefoot Books and teach acting for kids. Thanks!

what great luck!
What wonderful luck! We sold my daughters piano on craigslist. It took several weeks. And THEN it took the buyer almost a month to pick it up, I even had to email them and threaten to keep the downpayment if they didn't come pick it up by a certain date. You recieved a nice sum for the piano. I called several places that sell only pianos and was told craigslist was the place to sell these types. Great job!
wow! Lucky! I love the bio you wrote about yourself. very touching. i am really happy i found you!
Lindsay
OH WOW! That is fantastic. I would have never thought about doing that. One reason why I love blogging, you can learn so much from someone else. :)

Wow! What a deal for the new owners and what a great money maker for you. Thanks for linking up at My Dear Trash.
I'm amazed how many free pianos you can find on Craigslist. When I have a bigger home I'll be SUPER tempted to get one (even though I don't play).
